Installer crashes on macOS

macOS includes security features such as Gatekeeper, which are designed to protect users from malicious software. If our installer (in this case, Terminal) does not have the necessary permissions, Gatekeeper may block the installation or cause the application to crash.  

If you're experiencing this, be sure to check your Privacy and Security settings to see if any apps are requesting access to directories.  

Additionally, macOS is pretty protective over the Users and Desktop directories, so if your X-Plane install is located there it would be smarter to move your X-Plane install to the Applications folder. Doing something as simple as this can alleviate problems altogether.
